Michael is a Chartered Accountant who qualified with Deloitte and Touche in London in 1977. After working as an audit manager, Michael moved into financial services in 1983 specialising in investment management and compliance for the past 27 years. In this period Michael has worked for a variety of investment managers including the UK fund management subsidiary of a major Japanese bank, a commodities hedge fund, a US debt fund manager and an environmental investment manager, as well as being Compliance Officer he also had responsibilities for back office, client reporting and corporate administration functions.
Michael and his wife moved to Devon in 2012 and he joined Hawksmoor in 2014. He enjoys gardening, cooking and the Devon countryside and coast.
Sarah started her career in financial services in 1988 with Sinclair Henderson Limited, part of a young group of companies which later became Exeter Investment Group (EIG) offering third party administration services and investment management for investment trusts, as well as managing its own range of unit trusts. She initially worked with the Company Secretary providing company secretarial services to third party clients and then moved to a central role within EIG which incorporated Group company secretarial duties, compliance, HR and office services. She assisted EIG’s Board with the Group’s Stock Exchange listing, acquisitions and disposals and complying with Stock Exchange and Companies Act requirements. As EIG’s third party administration business expanded, Exeter Fund Administration was launched in 1998, providing administration services to unit trusts and OEICs. Sarah particularly worked with new fund launches.
In 2004 EIG merged with iimia to become iimia Investment Group and soon after the administration arm of the Group was sold. Sarah then moved to iimia and took up the role of Assistant Company Secretary for the AIM-listed Group.
Sarah joined Hawksmoor at its launch in November 2007, assisting John Crowley in establishing the new business, its office and implementing procedures. She continues to fulfil several central functions for Hawksmoor including human resources and assisting the Chief Executive and Company Secretary with Board and Company matters, while also managing the Exeter office. Sarah’s interests include cooking, flamenco dancing and generally keeping fit.
Scott Rose is the IT and Operations Manager for Hawksmoor Investment Management.
Scott joined Hawksmoor in May 2016 and is excited to now manage the IT and Operations for the growing firm.
Scott has worked in IT for over ten years and is passionate about IT and particularly its application within financial services. Scott has experience in a wide variety of different software and hardware technologies.
Outside of work, Scott enjoys family time with partner Gemma, son Noah, daughter Ella and not forgetting his two cats, Aymee and Harry.
Hobbies include spending time with friends, all things technological and some tennis when time allows.
Vikki started her career in financial services in 1987 with Natwest in London. She has worked for various investment and international banks within the city such as HSBC, Dresdner and Merrill Lynch covering Eurobond Settlements/Funding /Asset Management and trade support.
In 2003 Vikki met her now husband and moved to Devon where she joined iimia; here she covered all aspects of administration and dealing support. iimia was then taken over by JLT in 2011.
Vikki joined Hawksmoor in October 2015 where she assisted the administration team before moving over to Compliance to assist the Head of Compliance.
Outside the office, Vikki is Vice Chairman for the Exeter Chiefs Youth Section and sits on the Countess Weir Cricket committee. Vikki also likes body boarding, camping and champagne.
James, a Chartered Accountant, originally trained with Ernst & Young in London before taking on roles as a Finance Director and owner with various companies in the retail, publishing, renewable energy, and care businesses. James has also been a Non-Executive Director of the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital Foundation Trust.
James is currently Vice Chairman of the Governors of Exeter School, Chairman of a local Alms House Charity (The Eight Men of Broadclyst) , a Non-Executive Director of a local property business.
His interests include choral singing, boating, supporting Exeter Chiefs, playing bridge and a variety of sports (tennis, squash, cycling, skiing and running).
James is married to Sarah and they have three children William, Elizabeth and Tom.
