JOSH ADAMS
Head of Marketing & Business Relationships
Born in 1961, Josh graduated from Cambridge University in 1982 with a degree in Classics and then studied for a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education. However, one year of teaching Latin and Ancient Greek at King Edward The Sixth School in Southampton was enough and in 1984 he entered a graduate trainee programme with Friends Provident. Over the next ten years 1984-1994 he worked in four different branch offices in Southampton, Edinburgh, Oxford and Plymouth but since moving to the South-West in 1990, here he has remained.
Over the next sixteen years 1994-2010, Josh worked as an Account Manager for a range of companies including M&G, iimia and more recently Standard Life. It was while working for Standard Life on the integration of wrap platforms with discretionary fund management that he came into contact with Hawksmoor, became re-acquainted with former colleagues from iimia and accepted an offer to join Hawksmoor as its Head of Marketing and Business Relationships in September 2010.
Josh is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and is studying to become a Chartered Financial Planner. He lives with his partner Sally and her two children in the Dartmoor village of South Brent and he has a daughter, Hebe, who lives in Ivybridge. His interests include rugby (no longer playing) and tennis (playing too much) together with walking and swimming on Dartmoor.
